Friday 19th May 2017

Dear Parents, Carers and Governors,

I am sure like me you have enjoyed the sun arriving over the last few weeks, if only the temperature would rise as well.

Thank you for sending your sons and daughters to school ready for the summer term, they have returned with such enthusiasm. We have a very busy term ahead of us with many exciting trips and visits in Term 5.

Walk to school week has taken place between Monday 15th May and Friday 19th May. Leaflets and activities have been made available to all staff and children. Well done to all those parents, staff and children who took part.

Enjoy the improving weather and thank you all for your good wishes for my husband's illness.

Best wishes

Mrs Maureen Thompson

Red Nose Day

Langford Village School enjoyed a day of fun on Friday 24th March and all the children wore red to school. We held a hugely popular cake sale in the morning, followed by a talent show in the afternoon - Langford certainly does have talent! As always, thank you for your continued support. We managed to raise over £488 for Comic Relief.

Many thanks, School Council

Congratulations to all three Year 6 football teams for their successful seasons this year. Langford A won their group, whilst Langford B came joint first in theirs with Waddesdon. The Langford girls ended their season second in their respective league. We look forward to each team's semi final in the next two weeks and have our fingers crossed for a place in the final - and the chance to win another trophy 🏆

Names: James Ball, Anoushka Tatineni, Jessica Garside, Isabelle Webb, Jacob Neptune, Daniel Chapman, Thomas Sames and Lucy Willoughby

On Wednesday 3rd May, a Year 4 team represented the school at the Bicester Area Mini Red Tennis competition with six other Bicester teams. All the players faced opponents from every other team with all matches being high spirited and competitive, but with quite a few wins from the Langford players.

Langford scored 129 points overall and won the tournament. This qualifies the team for the Mini Red Tennis Final that will take place in June.

Thank you to Mrs Bray and Miss Scott for accompanying the team. Well done to all the players!

School Meals

You can now order school meals for next term. There will be an Italian theme day on the 29th June. Deadline for ordering meals is 30th May 2017.

Dear Parent / Carer,

This term we are holding an open evening at 1st Langford Brownies which is open to all girls aged 7 - 9. It will take place between 6 - 7.30pm on Wednesday 24 May at Langford School. Girls who attend will work alongside our Brownies on a Spring Scavenger hunt which will help them get to know our Brownies and learn more about Brownies. There is no obligation to become a Brownie after attending the meeting but we hope that some our guests will!

If you are not receiving 'push' notifications from school, download the school life app from either the Google Play store (for Android smartphones and tablets) or the Apple App Store (for iPhones, iPods and iPads). Search for 'schoollife' (all one word) and then look for the School Life logo. Once downloaded please contact the school office for your personal login information.

If you are not receiving emails, please contact the school office with your email address.

By not signing up for the 'School Life' platform you may be missing out on important school information and messages.
